The company's dancers are primarily classical ballet dancers, but they also receive training and qualification from contemporary ballet. Everything is executed exquisitely: the dancers have excellent technique, elongated and splendid movements, and precision in the smallest details, thus creating a wonderful work of pure clarity. When we meet dancers like these, together with Kylián, the result is wonderful. […] It is an excellent program of the company with an exquisite and current choreography, and a high level of execution.

The Company, created almost 10 years ago by the State Secretariat of Culture of the Government of the State of São Paulo, exhibits and its charisma and originality in Ludwigsburg, enchanting everyone with its choreography.

Indeed, the 14 dancers and dancers of the São Paulo Dace Company are unbeatable in terms of energy, temperament and passion. This is due to its Latin American origin, or the gift of the artistic director, Inês Bogéa, to choose her group […] or perhaps it is the combination of both. The most acclaimed dance group in Brazil, São Paulo Companhia de Dança, excited the Forum Leverkusen. There were brilliant choreographies that the Company presented to enthusiastic audiences of all ages – there was also a professional audience in the great hall. After all, Bayer Kultur had invited the most renowned Brazilian Contemporary Company, which has existed for only 7 years.

It was a symphony of the body the presentation of São Paulo Dance Company on the stage of Bonn Opera. The group is inspired and endowed with great musicality. Those who underestimate the company of São Paulo are mistaken due to their short existence, thinking that for this reason they would lack internationality. On the contrary, its direct connection with world dance is even one of its greatest assets.

Three dance plays showed three very different facets of an exquisite and still young dance group. The São Paulo Dance Company , founded in 2008, was the guest of Bavarian Culture this week, being enthusiastically acclaimed by the audience in the fully crowded venue. However, the final play, followed by prolonged applause, was, in comparison to the first part, the one that presented more current choreographies (…). In this new presentation of the choreography In the Middle, William Forsythe’s Sommewhat Elevated from 1987, fascinated , above all, the impeccable use of the
technique of the nine dancers involved. (…) After this energy boost, he followed the smooth and fluid choreography of Gnawa, by Nacho Duato, who exposed the graceful side of the Brazilian company, which, in fact, quickly reached the top of the Latin American dance scene. […]

This series saw the São Paulo Dance Company, which could also be called the Brazilian NDT. Not only because all of the program’s choreographers also worked for NDT, but because the dancers dance at the same high level. Billy Forsythe did not write his masterpiece In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated, which the Company showed during its presentation, neither to its Frankfurt dance group nor to NDT, but to the artists of the Paris Opera ballet. However, São Paulo has nothing to be ashamed of and if there was a championship of groups of dancers (God forbid something like that), they could take their place on the podium as a purely Brazilian group.

The São Paulo Dance Company last Saturday held a high-quality dance night in the crowded room of the Conde de Zeppelin house in Friedrichshafen. They are just over 40 dancers, but all perfectly able to dedicate themselves with mastery to both expressions. Today, for the first time, the company incorporates a great action ballet in its repertoire, and it is no small feat: Romeo and Juliet with music by Prokofiev. This new production is exemplary. It is due to the young [Italian] choreographer Giovanni Di Palma, who, it seems to me, is little known in France, despite having danced at the Nice Opera, the Dresden Ballet and the Leipzig. […] But, as of now, we must affirm that, besides São Paulo Dance Company, there is probably no one in Brazil that is a better showcase for classical dance and, at the same time, contemporary dance. It will never be too much to affirm the merit worthy of admiration of Inês Bogéa, the director, who guides her troupes with a firm hand and builds a particularly rich and judicious repertoire for them. This brilliant result, obtained in five years, is particularly admirable, coming from this small woman, with such a fragile appearance that we would see her, more easily, dancing the role of Giselle.
