Choreography: Antonio Gomes Music: Valsas de Esquina, by Francisco Mignone (1897-1986), with orchestration by Rubens Ricciardi and recording by the Theatro São Pedro Orchestra conducted by Cláudio Cruz Lightning: Wagner Freire Costumes: Fábio Namatame Duration/cast: 37 minutes with 10 dancers Debut SPDC: 2021 | São Pedro Theater, São Paulo / SP - Brazil Inspired by Francisco Mignone's Valsas de Esquina, Antonio Gomes proposes a timeless ball in the moonlight, where ingenuity and nostalgia meet with joviality and romanticism, capturing the ephemeral and simple atmosphere of the serenades, adding contemporary elements based on traces of popular music already present in the compositions. -

Respiro (2020)
Choreography: Cassi Abranches Soundtrack: Beto Villares, with participation of Siba, Érico Theobaldo, Fil Pinheiro, Mauricio Badé and Julia Valiengo Lightning: Gabriel Pederneiras Costume: Verônica Julian Choreography Assistance: Filipe Bruschi Duration/cast: 15 minute with 8 dancers Debut SPDC: 2020 | Teatro Alfa, São Paulo/SP – Brazil Respiro (breath) evokes a pause, a break or simply the act of breathing. In this work, the choreographer is inspired by the feelings of losses and gains perceived by the dancers during the pandemic and incorporates elements that start from the fullness of meditation and explode in an apex of well-being to suspend the present from a reality, sometimes asphyxiating. -

Gnawa (2005)
Choreography: Nacho Duato Music: Hassan Hakmoun, Adam Rudolph, Juan Alberto Arteche, Javier Paxariño, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Velez, Kusur and Sarkissian Lighting: Nicolás Fischtel Costume: Luis Devota and Modesto Lomba Restaging: Hilde Koch and Tony Fabre (1964-2013) Organization and original production: Carlos Iturrioz Mediart Producciones SL (Spain) Duration/cast: 23 minutes with 14 dancers Premiere: 2005 | Harris Theater for Music and Dance, Chicago/United States Debut SPDC: 2009 | Teatro Sérgio Cardoso, São Paulo/SP – Brazil Nacho Duato was inspired by the nature of Valencia, surrounded by sea and sun, and by Mediterranean aromas, colors and flavors, to create Gnawa. The Gnawas are a mystical Islamic fellowship. Duato is interested in gravity and the use of the solo as key elements in constituting his dance. This interest is renewed in a ritualistic tone involving a musical trance that leads to (and is driven by) the movement of the bodies.
