Corpus – Alma e Esperança (2020)

Three artists. Three homes. One screen. A single poem. This is the action Corpus: Alma e Esperança, which brought together the São Paulo Dance Company  and the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo for an unprecedented partnership. Conceived by the artistic directors of the institutions Inês Bogéa and Ismael Ivo (1955-2021), respectively, the project encouraged dancers from both companies to take advantage of the present moment of social isolation to create short choreographies from their homes and record them in video. Gathered by Kleber Pessolato and Guilherme Pinheiro, from Galeria Produções, they gave rise to 14 pills starring 42 dancers from both stable bodies, in 30- and 60-second formats, which were shown first-hand, in April 2020, by TV Cultura . The videos are also available on the social networks of the two artistic bodies, in addition to the platform #CulturaEmCasa, created and maintained by the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy of the Government of São Paulo. In each pill, three artists, from inside their homes, choreograph concerns, inspirations and aspirations.

Mira (2018)

Developed under the idea of 360° visualization and virtual reality (VR), Milton Coatti’s choreographic creation for São Paulo Dance Company seeks to translate into movement the issues that plague human beings. Known by the ancients as one of the brightest visible in the southern hemisphere, the star  Mira  has periods of significant changes in its appearance. Restlessness, questioning, and a certain internal anguish, move the dancers to seek an answer to these feelings and sensations. In this search, they look to themselves and others to rediscover the beauty, light and love apparently lost (or temporarily forgotten) in this almost lunar space that suggests dissipating, but which still holds hope and the perspective that, at some point, the ideal meeting, with you and with the other, will materialize. Directed by Inês Bogéa and Luciano Cury and executive produced by João Marcello Bôscoli, Mira was recorded at OCA using technology that proposes to the viewer to be the center of the action, but also part of the collective, immersed, sharpening the perception of details to the most subtle movements of the bodies in the dance. The filming and editing are by Panograma, costume creation by UMA – Raquel Davidowicz and styling by Paula Iglecio.
