Jogo de Corpo (2014)
Jogo de Corpo (2014)
In the World Cup year in Brazil, the São Paulo Dance Company presented a soccer-inspired dance photo shoot – a record of the movements of the bodies and the ball suspended in the air. A soccer match has an interesting parallel with a choreography of technical, style and tactical issues, fundamental elements for expressiveness in dance and football. The images of photojournalist André Porto recorded moments inspired freely by striking images of Brazilian football, which came to life again in the bodies of the dancers.
The exhibition won two editions: the first, between June and July, took place in the Youth Park; the second, in the form of a traveling show, passed through the stations of the Paulista Metropolitan Train Company (CPTM), which began in September at Palmeiras – Barra Funda Station, and then to Brás, Tatuapé and Osasco Station in October and November, ending his roaming at Osasco Station.
