FROM THE HIDE GAME TO THE TRANSE RITUAL
Three dance plays showed three very different facets of an exquisite and still young dance group. The São Paulo Dance Company , founded in 2008, was the guest of Bavarian Culture this week, being enthusiastically acclaimed by the audience in the fully crowded venue. However, the final play, followed by prolonged applause, was, in comparison to the first part, the one that presented more current choreographies (…). In this new presentation of the choreography In the Middle, William Forsythe’s Sommewhat Elevated from 1987, fascinated , above all, the impeccable use of the
technique of the nine dancers involved. (…) After this energy boost, he followed the smooth and fluid choreography of Gnawa, by Nacho Duato, who exposed the graceful side of the Brazilian company, which, in fact, quickly reached the top of the Latin American dance scene. […]
